Central PA Food Bank Soup & A Bowl

On 1/3/2018, 7 members of SWHS NAHS traveled to Manheim Elementary to work with Mr. Riddles kindergarten class. We started the session by reading a book about hunger. Stone Soup is an old folk story in which hungry strangers convince the people of a town to each share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal that everyone enjoys.
Following the book, we discussed and drew different types of lines. We then assisted the student in making clay bowls using a mold and different type of clay coils. On 1/16/18, we returned and glaze the bowls before they are sent off to the Soup and A Bowl fundraiser event held in March for Central PA Food Bank. |
